The current flag of Seattle was adopted in 1990 (the same year the city hosted the Goodwill Games) - hence the wording on the flag. The flag consists predominantly of a teal or aquamarine color in a motif to represent the city’s perch inside Puget Sound and all its estuaries. Chief Seattle a member of the local Suquamish Tribe is featured along with a stylized ’S’ surrounding his head.
