Oakland

The current flag of Oakland was adopted in 1952. It features an oak tree to represent the immense forests of oak trees at the time the area was ‘first developed’. The 1852 represents the year Oakland was incorporated as a town (before becoming a city). The color scheme alludes to the vast golden hills and green trees that used to define the area.
